Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

A book by 3rd Form Boys, Billericay Secondary School in 1950

This book was given to Sylvia Kent for publication on this website. It was written in 1950 and is a look back at Billericay’s past, a review of the town as it was then and a prediction of what the future may bring.

As usual with these flip books if you click on the square or three dots at the top right of the flip book window and select full screen from the drop down menu, you can enlarge the book to full screen. To exit full screen just hit the Esc key. Apologies for any problems with the reproduction but with such a fragile document it was not possible to scan the whole of every page.

Thanks must go to the staff of Billericay School at the time who helped produce the book and to all the boys of the 3rd Form who wrote articles. We are lucky to have managed to obtain a photograph of the boys of the 3rd form reproduced below.

  • Thank you for working so hard Jim to improve this photograph which was so very small. We can now see the individuals’ faces and somehow this book comes alive. We have some of the boys still living in Billericay and they are pleased that we can all appreciate this wonderful piece of local history!
