Horace was the son of Arthur James Ash and Fanny Elizabeth Johnson. He was born on 2nd September 2016 and was baptised on 22nd September 2016 at St. John’s in Bethnal Green. At this time the address was given as 12 Pollard Street.

In the 1939 register his address is CH Hemmings General Stores London Road where he is shown as the grocer. These premises appear to be near Church Lane and thus may be the stores in Crays Hill.

He married Eva Elizabeth Bestley at St Mary Magdalen on 14th April 1942 and they had a son Richard Horace who was born on 12th April 1944 in Crays Hill.

Horace died in Northern Ireland after the end of World War II and was lioving ion Dundrum outside Belfast at the time. There is no record of the cause of death.
