School Road

During and After the War

Two visitors to the Cater Museum were showing a more than usual interest in the kitchen display.  They explained that they were looking items from their family home in School Road that had been donated to the museum.  Spotting a wall mirror from their house they pointed out that it is being displayed upside down.  They went on to talk about living in School Road during the war and mentioned that soldiers were billeted in houses there, including theirs.  When a posting abroad was received by one of their soldier’s he shot himself in the foot.
