I think the Smithy was next door to Goodey’s Stores on the Southend Road. It appears in Roger Green’s ‘Billericay, An Historical Tour in Pictures’ which was published in 1997. It was situated on the left hand side (going east) almost opposite the village green roughly where the petrol station now is.
