The Slipped Discs building, formerly Smith’s butchers shop and Billericay ‘s late lamented bookshop, Storyteller. Here are some examples through the ages. In the early views it will be seen that a gated arch provided access to the rear of the building for (butcher’s?) carts. If one steps inside the building today two large timber posts will be found supporting a beam, These were formerly part of the outside walls either side of the arch when the property was two cottages.

Hi, I have just seen a post regarding Bob Jeff’s record shop in billericay…my brother knew him. I lived in Billericay since 1954 when I was born until I was about 18.
