High Number 105 was Mr Houghton’s house where he lived close to his shop. At sometime before this photo was taken the ground floor and the front were altered so as to provide premises for County Dry Cleaners.Looking down the gap between this building and the shops can be seen Kitts builders merchants.
In about 1960 No. 105 was demolished and the yard belonging to Kitts was redeveloped and became Holly Court. The current building has gone through a number of incarnations among which are a travel agent, a card shop and a window blind shop.

I think the new shop built in its place was called “Christines”. Sold children’s clothes if I remember rightly.
My Grandmother worked in that old shop in the mid 1960s and Holly Court was there at that time. I believe the shop was demolished late 60s or early 70s and a new one built, along with an extra unit (or maybe 2) in Holly CT itself.
