A schoolboy in 1950

A couple of photos from late 40s early 50s

I was born 1942 and at lived at Westways, Western Road, Billericay. I attended Great Burstead Primary School  1948-52.

The two photos below are from this era.

Does anyone else have photos or memories from this period or remember me.

  • Do you recall Keith Barnett? Also born in 1942 (8th Feb I believe). Lived at a bungalow called The Arches in Mill Road, Billericay before moving to Silverdale on Hunters Chase, Hutton I believe. A close relative, died Nov 2005. His parents were Ernest William Barnett (cabinet maker) and Hilda Ella Neva (nee Keeble). Ernest was apparently in the home guard during WW2 – can anyone fill me in with more details about this please?

Hilda ran a baby clothes shop in Essex (not sure if Billericay), taught tailoring in a college in London and later worked in a children’s home possibly in Brentwood? Has four children – Val (b 1936 – married Derek Palmer), Celia (b 1939), Keith (b 1942) and Rosemary (Romey b 1946).

As I trace my family tree, I’m happy to receive any information. Many Thanks
